 FPGA Hardware Engineer

Our company designs and manufactures custom controllers for industrial applications such as semiconductor equipment. Our controllers are installed in semiconductor factories worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Writing and testing VHDL code
  • Implementing and testing FPGA systems
  • Designing electronic circuits and integrated systems
  • Engineering work and applied research for development and design of new products
  • Designing test control apparatus and equipment, determining procedures for testing products, and fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment
  • Evaluating operational systems and recommending or performing design modifications to eliminate causes of malfunctions or changes in system requirements


Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in Engineering
  • Solid programming experience with Xilinx / Altera / Actel / FPGA devices and development tools
  • At least 5 years’ experience with ModelSim, C, and C++
  • Ability to understand hardware schematics

Role Description
Responsible for the engineering part of a major project.  Performs engineering work and applied research, development and design of new products.  Work includes design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation of electronic apparatus, components, or circuitry for use in electronic equipment and devices.  Analyzes equipment to establish operating data and conducts experimental tests.

Essential Responsibilities

Design electronic circuits & systems, including analog, digital, microcontrollers, and FPGAs

Creates software and firmware for electronic systems

Designs, implements, tests, and modifies product prototypes

Determines procedures for testing products and fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment

Evaluate electronics/electrical systems and recommend design modifications to eliminate causes of malfunctions or to recommend changes in system requirements

Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks

Performs tests, documents test results in an understandable manner

Understands the operation of customer plants and associated requirements

Writes production and test Q/A documents

Requires ability to design and execute test procedures


Successful candidate will possess
•    BSEE or equivalent experience
•    5+ years of experience designing electronic circuits and systems
•    OrCAD/Allegro experience required

Quality Assurance Software Engineer

Digital Dynamics is looking for a seasoned Quality Assurance Software Engineer to design and implement QA test software for validation of our industrial hardware and software products.

Use your technical skills, experience, intuition and creativity to develop methodical scientific experiments to analyze and expose hardware and software product defects.

Maintain a comprehensive up-to-date understanding of our product requirements, industry standards, technical specifications and documentation.

Define and document test case objectives, test plans, parameters and procedures. Maintain existing test case definitions and test software to reflect any changes in requirements.

Perform daily manual and automated test experiments, perform failure analysis and keep track of ongoing QA workflow progress, write detailed defect report documentation.

Organize and maintain revision control of all QA test software source code, test plans and QA build releases of all software tools used for QA testing.

Work with management, product marketing, QA testers and the engineering team to keep up-to-date with DDI's business goals, strategies, product requirements and HW/FW/SW development.


Examples of the QA test software engineering projects you will be working on:

Performance Characterization: Develop automation test software to validate the input/output response characteristics to meet or exceed the specified product requirements.

Black-Box Testing: Develop automation test software to perform full test coverage of the product interface, functionality and parameters to ensure all features are validated and pass conformance.

White-Box Testing: Analyze software, RTL, source code, schematics, device and protocol specifications to find exploitable engineering, manufacturing and process defects.

Stress-Testing: Design and implement directed stress test programs to exercise product hardware and firmware to find their limits of failure.

ATE Software Development: Design and implement Automated Test Equipment instrument drivers, software and distributed system schedulers and test sequencers for the QA lab bench and ATE test rack.

Develop a test reporting system to store QA test results in a metrics database.

Develop software to query and analyze the test metrics data and present information as graphs and charts showing QA trends.


Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, investigative, creative, intellectual, introspective, inquisitive, methodical, rational, analytical, logical, detail-oriented and organized.

Excellent communication skills are required.

QA team leadership skills are strongly desired.

Experience designing and implementing automation test software and Automated Test Equipment instrument drivers is required.

Fluent C programming skills are required.

Experience using Oscilloscopes, DC power-supplies, Waveform Generators, DMMs and Data Acquisition laboratory test equipment is required.

Experience with reading digital and analog circuit schematics, technical specifications and communication protocols is required.

Experience developing multi-threaded software applications, multi-process distributed systems and client-server communications is required.

Experience with IT systems network configuration on Linux and Windows is required.

Experience with source-control management and software revision control is required, experience with git is desired.

Experience with TCP/IP socket programming is required. Experience with EtherCAT is highly desired.

Experience writing embedded system QA test software is highly desired.

Experience with C++, Python, Java and/or JavaScript languages is desired.

Experience with JSON, XML, SQL, NodeJS, AJAX, HTML is highly desired.


Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

Minimum 5 years experience performing Manual QA Testing and Failure Analysis.

Minimum 5 years experience developing automated QA test software with Automation Test Equipment.

Embedded Software Engineer

Responsibilities

•  Design and implement software of embedded devices and systems from requirements to production and commercial deployment
•  Design, develop, code, test and debug software for performing diagnostics on hardware

Requirements
•  BBS or MS degree in Computer Science or Engineering
